Take a Road Trip with a Twist

Rolling Hills: LadyD Books
For Skywatch Friday

Central Valley: LadyD Books

Cows: LadyD Books

Vineyards: LadyD Books

Cattle: LadyD Books

Farm Ranch Cattle: LadyD Books

Canal: LadyD Books

All of the above photos were taken with my point and shoot camera from the car window. We were just passing through the Central Valley in California, headed towards Woodland. Indeed, it is an enormous valley, with tons of grape vineyards, nut groves, and cattle. The only thing that is missing is water and the lack of it.

Rare Bird: LadyD Books
For Foto Friday
The photo theme this week is "feathers or fur." I recently posted beautiful red and blue parrots for Wordless Wednesday. Today's photo is another bird pic from the Safari Park. Love the graceful body and neck, adorned with royal plumage!

"The next time you take off on a family trip, why not take a covered wagon instead of a car? Or do a bike tour, with no car involved? You could even go on foot and have a llama carry your stuff for you."

  7. Beautiful scenery, we haven't been to that part of CA in awhile. I love the list of vacation inspirations. I would really like to do a roots trip as it would cover most of the British Isles.
