Love Letters from God: Bible Stories for a Girl's Heart

Book Description

In this heart-warming picture book designed for girls, author Glenys Nellist tells the inspiring stories of incredible women in the Bible. With beautiful illustrations by Rachel Clowes and sweet lift-the-flap envelopes, each story delivers a special message for children to open as they read their own personal love letters from God. Full of warmth and love, this picture book will fill girls’ hearts with the wonder of the Lord. The stories of Eve, Miriam, Esther, Mary, and much more will delight children and remind them of the bond they can share with God, just like the women of the Bible.

Book Review

One of my favorite quotes from this beautiful picture book is, "God clapped his hands in delight as Eve opened her eyes for the very first time." Inside you will discover 14 inspiring stories about these amazing women of God, such as 'The Trusting Girl,' 'The Brave Girl,' and 'The Hopeful Girl.' Ages 4-8 will be delighted to engage in a fun hands-on activity of lifting the flap to read a personal warm and loving message from God. The charming illustrations are filled with wonder, beauty, and peace. The entire book is bathed in sweetness for your little girl. I highly recommend this charming book for all home and Sunday School libraries.  Guaranteed to touch your heart and be encouraged in His love.

Jay-Jay and His Island Adventure

Jay-Jay and His Island Adventures

Dear Readers,

What a delightful children's book! Such a cute story about a bus who bumped his bottom!! :-)

About The Book

Jay-Jay is no ordinary bus.
His journey is full of play.
He is a Playbus, he brings fun and adventure to the children wherever they are.
A safe place to play where children can use their imagination and explore.
Once a real bus his story has been told in many schools.
"We wish he was still here," the children say. "We would love to go inside!"
Well, you can and he is, even if only in fictional form, his story goes on.
The real Playbus proved so popular that the idea was copied by many other play projects.
Always bright and colorful, they stood out from the rest and knowing they were different, the children and other users would come along to look inside and explore to find out what was on offer.
The real Jay-Jay was much loved and fondly remembered.
His fictional story continues.

Book Review

Jay-Jay is a special playbus who happily greets the children everywhere and all the children excitedly run to him! While inside, children feel warm and cozy, enjoying playtime with special books and wonderful toys. This time, the fun adventure begins with a new destination, an island to discover pirate fun! First, Jay-Jay must get aboard the ferry boat. I love the beautiful illustrations and the word crafting describing how the double decker boat feels about the bumpy ride! Once Jay-Jay reaches the island, the real fun begins as the new children come aboard to find a magical pirate island.
The author has written another great story of treasures and happy memories!

5/5 stars! Highly recommend! My 4 grandsons love this book!

Biography

Have you ever been on a Playbus?
Not an ordinary bus taking you on a journey, exciting though this is, but a bus stuffed full of toys and imagination! When my two children were young they attended a playgroup on such a bus and as a volunteer, I became involved with the committee running the project. The bus really got into my blood and became very much a work of the heart. I ended up painting the bus, as well as working in the groups and raising the profile of the project and its work. As part of the committee and later as play-worker, I was involved in raising necessary funds to replace the old bus with a newer project. It really was a fun journey to be involved in.
curious and asked lots of questions about the playbus. This led to me telling a story which I eventually wrote down. Jay-Jay is the fictional story to go with the actual project.
I have other book ideas in a draft or indeed still in the telling but for now, I can turn my attention to the next part of my bus journey!

The Real-Life Jay-Jay

JJK 261 was once an ordinary, AEC Regent, a bus traveling around Eastbourne. The Girl Guides Association bought the bus in 1977 with money from the Queen's Silver Jubilee Community awards fund. The bus was taken to Gatwick Airport where Engineering Apprentices converted the bus for play.

For many years it worked in the local town and was much loved by those who knew it. The Playbus was initially called "Supersonic Bus" and many people came from all over the country to find out about the project which led to many other projects being set up.

The bus did indeed receive an award from the Queen, www.suewickstead.co.uk

Book Review

What a wonderful devotional for older children, ages 6-10! I'm going to give a copy to my 9-year-old grandson for his birthday. It's so well organized with daily scripture reading and engaging questions for young believers. I love the bold turquoise lettering of the title for each day, the beautiful cover art, and the bright yellow bookmark.  I especially enjoy reading the questions asked for personal application, like "How do we do this?" Then, answering with "By following Jesus every day of our lives! The end notes consist of 30 Days With Jesus and 90 days Through The Bible. Plus, you will find a two-sided page for your journaling. The hardcover devotional is great for home and Sunday School library. On my grandson's special day, he will be reading 'Let the peace of God rule in your hearts." (Col. 3:15)

5/5 stars. Highly recommend.
