Most board books cost around $6.99 I know this because my library is overflowing in the wonderful land of board books for my four precious grandchildren.

What is a board book, you ask? Well, Wikipedia defines it as:

"A board book is a type of book printed on thick paperboard. The paperboard is printed and used for the both the cover and the interior pages. Each page panel is a minimum of 2 plies of paperboard thickness. Unlike a typical paper book that is bound with saddle stitching (staples) or perfect binding, a board book's pages are specially folded and bound together. Board books are very durable and consequently intended for small children (who are liable to damage ordinary books) so that they can start to develop an interest in books at an early age. Many best-selling titles that were originally published in hardcover or paperboard formats have been converted to board books. Most of the board books produced in the world are produced in China and Mexico; however, there is one board book printer still located in the United States."

Now these darling board books are intended for babies and toddlers. Perfect, welcome to my world! lol Plus, these books provide endless opportunity for cuddling and interaction. Wouldn't you agree?

About the Author

JANE YOLEN has written more than two hundred books for children and adults, including the Caldecott Medal winner, Owl Moon. She lives in western Massachusetts and in St. Andrews, Scotland.

About The Book (My Review)

I love Jane Yolen and I have read many, many of her books. She is a delightful author and very professional in her writing. This book is a series of dinosaur books. What makes this particular story a winner is the theme of teaching children how to clean their room and put away their toys and such. The illustrations are over the top and a plus for any young boy to look at. The concept of a dinosaur in your home having fun with cleaning up is a GREAT motivator. I just know my Grandson is going to LOVE this one.  5* board book!

  1. We have that book. My son isn't much into dinosaurs right now, but I'm sure he'll go through that phase soon.
