Sometimes life brings us to place of shadows and valleys. We have many doubts along the journey.
The way seems a little bit lighter and we begin to feel as though we can make it through any ordeal.

Now it's time for you to share your "Emotion" photos @ Foto Friday

West of everything: The Inner Life of Westerns by Jane Tompkins
"Tompkins, an English professor at Duke university, is a self proclaimed and unabashed lover of Western novels and films. Her book - more series of essays than a connected whole - attempts to understand the contradictions contained in that love: why Westerns are so violent, why animals are mistreated, why the land is so stark, why the men keep their emotions to themselves."Very interesting read. This is an idea book, and the nice thing about it is that you don't have to agree with the ideas to enjoy what the author is saying.

"Her discussion of Western films is also limited by the number of films she assesses, only 42 are listed, and her overly-heavy focus on John Wayne's later work. Nothing is said of the presence in Western's for many years of former cowboys who saw more money in careers as movie extras than in punching cows. Instead, Tompkins is primarily concerned with the issue of male sexuality and how that sexuality has been influenced by male roles in Western films."

God light :) Not sure if I'd read the book based on the cover, but I've read some pretty good "country" books which totally broke the mold, so who am i to say anything? :)
