Book Review: To Heaven And Back

In 1999 in the Los Rios region of southern Chile, orthopedic surgeon, devoted wife, and loving mother Dr. Mary Neal drowned in a kayak accident. While cascading down a waterfall, her kayak became pinned at the bottom and she was immediately and completely submerged.

Despite the rescue efforts of her companions, Mary was underwater for too long, and as a result, died.

To Heaven and Back is Mary’s remarkable story of her life’s spiritual journey and what happened as she moved from life to death to eternal life, and back again.

My Review:

First of all, I believe her! A woman of faith, who happens to be a Dr., lists documented medical injuries for us to know after surviving an incredible accident. Mary Neal, a loving wife and mother, then shares a detailed account of her death, a glimpse of heaven and returns to earth to explain her interpretation of these life changing events for us to ponder and reflect. I am inspired by the author's sensitivity to the spirit of explaining one of God's miracles to the best of her ability. If you've been searching for some answers in an area of personal need, like 'Why do bad things happen to good people?' or 'How can good come from so much loss?',  read Mary Neal's true story of divine purpose; God is real and He truly cares for you. ***** stars. A beautiful book to read; quick and easy, too.
