Pink Cadilac: Birthday Bash

LadyD Books sends warm birthday greetings to Beverly of Pink Saturday!  Pink Saturday is all about celebrating friendship and fellowship. These beautiful Begonias grow well in semi-shade; so warm and delicate to look at, celebrating life. To me, it kind of looks like a begonia necklace for the birthday girl!

At the Lavender Farm in Valley Center, I discovered mounds of Lantana with pink and yellow blossoms, along with this pretty Monarch butterfly. At least, I think that's the name of this kind.

Now, every birthday should have some brightly colored, yummy frosted cupcakes for their guests at the party! There's something about a little sweet cake and a hot cup of tea at a ladies party!

It's been a fabulous Saturday in celebrating Beverly's birthday. Wishing her more to come! I find it amazing that we can get to know one another more, discover people's interests and glean some wisdom along the way.


Oh, and don't forget to dance to Pink Cadilac!

Caramel Sunrise: Skywatch Friday

 A warm July sunrise morning greeted us here in SoCal. I'm an early riser, so this was a pleasant sight to see. Then we began to make the rounds with our early morning chores. I couldn't help but feel as if the sky was a sea of caramel. For more sky photos visit, SkyWatch Friday.

Watering lots or flowers outdoors is an easy chore for me since everything is on an irrigation system. Plus, we've planted lots of drought-tolerant plants, like the Lantana above.

The Gerbera Daisy is easy to grow and they make lovely gifts to share with the parents of my piano students. For more beautiful flower pictures, visit Floral Friday Foto

After the avocado grove irrigation was shut off, we headed West towards the Pacific Ocean and visited with a few folks, seeing them catch plenty of mackerel for the day. Photo for Photograph4life

There were lots of baby Egrets that day at the pier. They fly inland looking for water, too. I've mentioned them in former posts when the Egret landed on my roof. Also, you'll find a children's book review on one of my favorite true stories, Astro Steller Sea Lion.

Modeling clay was a happening for indoor play when we arrived home. The texture and feel of play dough are so important for development, plus so much fun to work with. My grandson is learning the feeling of squeezing!
