"Don't get a dog if you're going to live in the African bush, Mitch warned Steve and Anna as they sat in the shade of their gazebo overlooking the Luangwa River." -- Bulu by Dick Houston
I love this true story of meeting Bulu, an African Wonder Dog, in Zambia's Luangwa Valley.

The Page 56

"Steve glanced at the sun lowering behind the trees. "We'll be doing some walking in the dark." He hoisted up his backpack. "Let's try to keep Bulu close."

Q: What would your prefer: reading your favorite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?

A. I do believe one never gets tired of quality books or movies, for that matter. Sometimes I like to have a variety of books on had to choose from. Follow My Book Blog Friday

  11. your photo is magnificent! and i am always intrigued with what you're reading - such a variety! i find i'm so eclectic that it's almost laughable. for example i couldn't maintain a blog just about a specific genre - i'd be bored out of my skull. but i do have some favourites and i reread those a lot, but variety is the spice of life! couldn't imagine reading something over and over again because it was the only book i had.

  12. That sky is absolutely stunning, what an amazing start to the day.

This book is intriguing. I can imagine why having a dog in the African bush would not be a good idea. With that in mind I would be interested to read about Bulu's adventures.
