The Friday #56

"Remember, you never want to move on until you're getting exactly what you want from your students. Whenever you forget this key principle, it comes back to haunt you." -- Michael Linsin

My Review

I love the book and highly recommend it to all music teachers. I see it like a blueprint for successful management of people and time. The author provides simple, clearly understood tips and strategies for any possible out of control scenario. I especially like the organized content of the chapter titles of the book. For example:

Leverage & Influence
Routines & Procedures
Listening & Following Directions
Rules & Consequences
Bad Days & Tough Classes

Overall, what I found extremely useful to apply is the ability to remain calm and not to respond no matter what happens! My favorite line in the book, "You must be real and sincere and willing to be a teacher whose words and gestures will be remembered for a lifetime."

5/5 stars. Highly recommend to all Art, Music, and PE Teachers.
